The Big Interiors Battle - Channel 4

A brand new format for Channel 4, with a life-changing prize of winning the flat you work on at the end of the series. I was tasked with working with production - who in turn were working on a building site - to get some beauty shots of the contestants, AJ the presenter, Dara Huang an architect, with Tim Heatley and Adam Higgins from Capital & Centric. I visited the location (hobnailed boots and all) to get a feel for it and understand what was going to be possible on a building site. I research some possible ideas, trying to find a way to get soft furnishings into a building that wasn't allowed much in. I got the idea of bringing in wallpaper and fabrics signed off and the all-clear, as long as it was all quickly movable and weighed down. I worked with an interiors shop to get all the colours together that would work with the brick building, finding fabrics that would drap and inventing ways to have a drop of each element. On the day the sun even came out giving us lovely reflections across the floor, plus everyone on site was so excited about the shoot it was a joy.
