About me
Over the years I have experienced many different facets of the film industry, from my days as a film student where I received a taste of what the greater industry would have in store, to roles that let me peek behind the curtain of professional film production and even distribution. My three years of Digital Film Production gave me training in both pre and post-production roles. From working on projects almost entirely by myself, such as my adaptation of 'The Killing Joke', where I applied the shorts unique visual style through long hours of editing of video and visual effects. To my final piece, 'Salvatore', where I took on the job of Writer and Director, and coordinated a team of talented individuals to help make my most engaging short, that would end up on screens at the Berlin International Film Festival. In 2013, I experienced my first instance of a professional film industry production when I got a chance to work as part of Titanic Studios, the ones who helped film the dark fantasy television phenomena that was 'Game of Thrones'. I attended the studio as they were beginning to wrap up the shooting for season 4 of the acclaimed show. Working as a Runner and Gaffer mostly, I was able to see first hand the techniques employed in such a grand undertaking. Shadowing and/or conversing with key members of the production, I was able to learn about their roles on set and what they provided to the production. This included, but not limited to, roles such as: - Director - Assistant Director - Camera Operator - Art Director - Set Designer Even during my 2 years working for Picturehouse Cinema in Central London, I gained further experience with the inner workings of the industry. From the point of view of the distributor, I saw the grand spectacle of movie premiers both for blockbusters and indie features. Our cinema even hosted the Sundance Film Festival. From all of this I gained insight into the combined effort a cinema's staff must put into running such events, and their importance to the larger media industry. My job even entailed interacting with high profile clients at such events, who were also regulars at the cinema. My passion for all things media is endless, my greatest desire being to pursue the creation of stories in my favourite medium as far as I can, and produce new forms of entertainment for this modern age of film we find ourselves in.
Projects
  • The Busker
The BuskerShort film directed by Billie Crockford, to which I served Producer. I admire stories about the human condition and the connections that we all must form as a part of life. Thus, this story about a young woman struggling with her relationship to two very different persons intrigued me. One bond represents the safety of normalcy, while the other exciting uncertainty.
  • Salvatore
SalvatoreSelected for screening at the 67th Berlin Film Festival, Salvatore is the project I find my self most proud of. Based on the real life experiences of a family friend, to whom this film now serves as a posthumous dedication. I've always been drawn to tales from the past. However, I'm more fascinated by the smaller, more human stories, the battles no one remembers, the little people who started something larger, the man next to the king. As such, this story spoke to me, and I knew I needed to film
