BUSINESS CARD DESIGN Tone: clean, confident, personal, spirituality-based Heather recently completed a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and wanted a business card that reflects where she is as she stepped into this new chapter of her life and up-level of her work. One thing I was keen to do is not to make her look corporate/stiff or feel clinical, Rather to feel personal and instil confidence and convey the impression that she has undergone studies and training and have the capability to help clients. Many people seek out coaching or therapy because one of the things they want from their sessions is clarity on the way forward - I’ve intentionally kept the design clean and light to reflect this. Choice of images: 1 / snake symbolism has a strong influence on her coaching and the way she helps people moved through their life transitions and rebirth themselves. 2 / The other image is the one with emanating rays of light which Heather described as a portal. A portal symbolises her work - helping people as they make transitions in their life, shedding their old self and crossing the threshold into the portal of a new chapter of their life. The way I’ve used this image is two fold - I’ve toned it down for decorative purpose so it doesn’t get in the way of her name. There’s also a subtlety to it, like a quiet invitation to transformation and to shine. Both images also play the role of communicating immediately that her work is rooted in spirituality and the metaphysical - thereby drawing aligned people and eliminating people who are not open to these things in their lives.

Li is a dream to work with. She holds the wisdom of an elder and the artful pragmatism of a truly skilled graphic designer. When designing my business cards, she asked me genuine, heartfelt questions so that she could understand the soul of my business and how it wanted to be expressed through the business cards. The end product was phenomenal. I am so grateful to partner with Li and I can’t wait to do it again.
