A new exhibition and event programme curated by Riposte in partnership with Amnesty International UK.

VENUE: COAL DROPS YARD
KIOSK, LOWER STABLE STREET

10 - 16 December, 2018

This new group exhibition marks the 70th anniversary of the universal declaration of human rights. In partnership with Amnesty International UK Trust, Riposte have invited 30 artists to create a piece of work in response to the word “Protection”. All proceeds from art sales will be donated to Amnesty. We'd love you to come and help us celebrate the launch with drinks and music on Human Rights Day, click here to RSVP.

12 December, 6.30 – 9.30pm

Artist Talk: Gender-based rage and creativity
Artists from the exhibition explore the galvanising effect of anger and rage on their work. Moderated by Ashleigh Kane of Dazed, speakers include Joy Miessi, Phoebe Collings-James, Lotte Andersen and Steph Wilson. Book here from 21 Nov.

13 December 2018, 7 – 10pm

Riposte & Rita’s Protection Dinner Riposte and Rita’s will host an intimate dinner for 20 people in the gallery space. Rita’s will provide the food, Aimee Hartley of Above Sea Level will create the wine list. One of the Amnesty advocates will tell a 15 minute story about her journey to the UK and the importance of the declaration of human rights. Book here from 21 Nov.

15 December, 12 – 4pm

Protection Family day Throughout the day Riposte will run drop-in collage and screen-printing workshops for everyone to get creative regardless of their age. Book here from 21 Nov. The artists involved are a global mix to reflect a worldwide response to issues that affect us all.
