The Colours of frustration Shortfilm

  • Carlota Urquijo Canal

While studying Art Direction, I wrote, directed, and produced this short film. Females like myself are constantly sexualised in the music industry, and it's time to make a change. That’s why I decided to create an audio-visual piece that represents the frustration of women in the industry caused by the sexualization and abuse they constantly suffer. These talented women have been fighting to be recognised for their work, effort, lyrics, music videos, art, etc. Instead, media and even their audience see them as objects, and rather than focusing on their music, they pay more attention to how they look, dress, or how beautiful they are according to society’s standards. I created a short film that reflects all these issues that shouldn’t be happening nowadays. It’s built around all the shocking words that women suffering in this industry have said and spoken out loud, in order to redeem the pain and frustration of those whose voices are not so loud
