Web design & art direction for LETSMEMO

  • Marcelina Stempak

LETSMEMO is a creative app for modern day parents who want to capture and save special moments without compromising their child's digital footprint. It is built on Web 3.0 decentralised technology where data sovereignty is key. LETSMEMO's founder came up with the idea once she became a parent, and didn't have a safe and trusted place to store moments with her children. She'd use social media for herself, however didn't feel it's right to post anything about the kids, especially without their consent. LETSMEMO was born for people like her – conscious about their privacy, wanting to create and share content on their terms, and interested in Web3 technology. The company needed a website to tell its story, and to start having conversations with others and build community. My job was to make sure our design aesthetic was reflected through the website, and to encourage visitor to become LETSMEMO's beta testers.

MY ROLE
Designer – discovery, research, benchmarking, design
The site was a simple, single page site that used storytelling to build emotional connection with them. We used it to introduce viewers to the brand, our principles, tell the founder's story, and make people familiar with ongoing privacy issues. We then suggested LETSMEMO as a solution to that problem. When building the website, we assumed that most of the traffic on the site will be created by people on mobile device - busy mums, always in a rush, multitasking. Therefore, it was incredibly important to us to create a site that looked good on all devices (not desktop only), maintained its goal-oriented design, and followed a strong grid structure to keep everything tight and organized. ‍ We launched our first website in September 2021. It quickly became a tool that attracted most users, and helped us build community of like-minded parents (with occasional non-parents interested in the product regardless).
