ND Awards 3rd Place, People: Fashion, Non-ProfessionalND Awards
This series titled 'floral pursuits', was shot in March 2020 in Hong Kong city. The shoot was set up as a collaboration between a team of creatives in Hong Kong, styled using wardrobe items provided by Charlotte Ng Studio Official.
The concept behind the shoot was to challenge the idea of Hong Kong being a concrete jungle with nothing but dense buildings. Throughout the series, the protagonist flower girl demonstrates her immense pleasure in exploring ordinary corners of the city, a flower market in this case. She found traces of flowers in both her outfit and makeup. The series showcases the beauty of the city in another angle, contrary to how it is popularly conceived by the world.
The shoot took place during the COVID 19 outbreak in the city, prompting a lot of introspection within the hearts of many. To me, this set of work is my personal assignment to find beauty in my own city in a different way than I am told.
