María has a cross-disciplinary background that combines design, science and education. She studied biochemistry in her hometown Santiago de Chile and has a masters in Innovation Design Engineering from Royal College of Art, UK.
Since then, she combines her life experiences with hands on skills to tackle design opportunities in the fields of inclusive design, biomedicine, material explorations and speculative design.
Influenced by her teaching skills, she is passionate about human behavior and has a deep understanding of people’s thinking processes that allow her to create meaningful products at the service of their users.

Walk with Path is a company that provides solutions for people with mobility and balancing problems. I worked on the development of Path Finder prototypes, a shoe accessory that prevents "freezing of gait", a common symptom for people that suffer from Parkinson's disease, that negatively affects their self esteem and balancing abilities.
My job was to plan and execute user testings and use that information to iterate the product by using rapid prototyping tools.
