About me
I am an experienced curator and emerging cultural leader interested in building creative communities of emerging artists and cultural producers through art, ideas, programming and strategy, with a particular interest in Black feminist thought. In my current role, I head a talented team co-producing innovative and inclusive learning experiences and public programmes with and for young people. We create the conditions for all young people to learn and be with art and ideas in Tate’s collection, exhibitions and spaces. I also co-lead Tate Collective, the world’s largest youth arts membership scheme at approx. 140k members. Programming highlights include celebrating cultural production of queer womxn of colour with BBZ and Tate Exchange (2017), producing a radio show on the roof of the British Pavillion in Venice with Tate Collective Producers, Touching Bass and Abondance Matanda (2018), devising and implementing (un)common space, an experimental co-working space and artist development programme at Tate Britain (2018), piloting a Tate wide mentoring programme for young people with Creative Society (2021), and commissioning young and emerging artists to create new outdoor artworks for LDN WMN (2018) and Beyond Boundaries (2021).
