About me

An experienced creative director, designer & set designer, my work is concentrated in identity and brand but extends into set design (most of the work on my site sandysuffield.com), photography, writing (thingsandpeople.com) & editorial. There are threads that run through all of the work – a rigour applied to conceptual thinking, an attention to craft, striving for simple not simplistic solutions, a good set of ears for listening to clients, a love of wit, warmth, colour and a good story.

  HelixFounded by Imperial College and the RCA, Helix is a design studio based inside an NHS hospital, their remit – to make health and healthcare better with design. The key task of the new brand was to improve recognition, understanding and engagement with Helix.

  Tube CrushA project exploring the shapes, textures and forms which organically present themselves on Underground/Subway Rail Networks around the world. We explored each of the London Underground lines.
• Eat Like The KingA man who famously loved his food, this series imagines Elvis eating at Graceland in the 60s. His meals were lovingly prepared by Mary Jenkins Langston, his cook for 14 years, from 1963 to 1977. Elvis’ appetite didn’t change much with fame, he was brought up on collard greens and corn bread and continued to eat an unpretentious menu of sandwiches, sausage patties and scambled eggs throughout his life. Mary would often bring a tray up to Elvis’ room and he would eat as he sat in bed, these photog
