About me
An arts and culture writer with more than two years of experience working in adult trade book publishing. At Penguin Random House, I have worked on a commercial fiction list that publishes some of the UK’s bestselling and much-loved authors including Lee Child, Sophie Kinsella and Ruth Jones. At university, I began documenting my lived experiences and reviewing film, music, theatre, books and events around London, which further strengthened my appreciation for arts and culture. I also completed editorial internships at some of my favourite magazines like Huck (an independent subculture magazine) and Pride (a lifestyle monthly targeting black British women). I’ve been fortunate enough to interview people such as Michaela Coel and V V Brown. I am passionate about amplifying underrepresented voices in my work and have a proven track record in meeting deadlines, writing accurate, engaging copy and being a confident interviewer. I also have four years of retail experience working in customer-facing roles and have also volunteered with small and medium-sized non-profits.

I currently work as an Editorial Assistant at Transworld, a division of Penguin Random House UK. Working closely with the commercial fiction team, I am responsible for keeping on top of the critical path for our titles and regularly liaise with agents, authors and colleagues across Art, Production, Marketing, Publicity, Sales and Copy-Editorial. I juggle a wide range of administrative tasks day-to-day, including diary management, scheduling meetings, minute taking, arranging book proof mail-outs, handling invoices, logging expenses, creating and populating Title Information sheets, updating cover copy, reading and reporting on fiction submissions from agents, organising submissions for literary prizes and recording sales data for our titles.
