We are looking for a Head of PR to organise and oversee PR activities and to ensure effective communication with stakeholders, media and the public. Please note; this is a 12-month fixed term contract.
Based in the London office, with some working from home, the Head of PR reports to the Director of Corporate Communications. The role is a senior position in the wider communications team, which is responsible for media relations, social media, public affairs, internal communications and customer relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead PR campaigns and strategies, as well as overseeing corporate, industry, sector and product-focused PR campaigns
  • Manage the PR budget
  • Oversight of corporate and consumer PR agencies
  • Crisis communications input when required; managing playbooks, planning and responding to issues
  • Pitching stories and interviews to senior journalists and responding to complex media enquiries
  • Be the final content approver for a wide range of written materials - press releases, photo-call notices, social media posts, media briefing notes, background documents, website copy and case studies.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with journalists and keep our contacts list up to date
  • Collaborate with our Director of Corporate Affairs and the wider marketing and growth leadership teams to ensure success
  • Line management of two direct reports
Requirements
  • Extensive corporate and consumer PR experience, either in-house or agency
  • Experience in financial services, fintech or banking
  • Organised, forward-thinking leader who likes to plan, but who can also think on their feet and move quickly when required
  • Excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills
  • Well-read, with a good understanding of mainstream and financial media
  • Confidence in juggling multiple demands
  • Able to manage senior stakeholders and lead a team
  • Flair for creativity, strategic thinking and innovation
  • Commercially aware and business savvy
  • Experienced in building influential networks, internally and externally
  • Solid project management skills
