We’re seeking someone at the very top of their game to join our successful team and lead our UK Factual slate. You’ll have a superb reputation and strong relationships across the industry – with a track record of winning commissions and delivering programmes for both broadcasters and streamers, across a range of genres. You’ll also be a part of the senior team at one of Britain’s biggest and best production companies, with a key role in our strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee our UK Factual slate of programmes
  • Work with development to come up with must-have series and one-offs for UK PSBs and streamers
  • Oversee production and delivery of a wide range of docs, exec producing where appropriate
  • Build strong relationships with Commissioners and Channel heads
  • Play a leading role in the strategic direction of the UK Factual team and of ITN Productions as a whole
  • Collaborate with other areas of ITN
  • Seek out new opportunities for revenue growth
  • Be passionate about Diversity and Inclusion and play a leading role in helping us progress and achieve our goals
  • Ensure all UK Factual content is delivered on time, to budget and is both technically excellent and legally sound
  • Help recruit freelance and staff members as required to build strong teams
  • Demonstrate and embody ITN’s values, culture and purpose

Key Requirements
  • Ambitious, creative, collaborative and passionate
  • An established industry figure who has a sound understanding of factual programming and a reputation for delivering exceptional content
  • Great relationships and thorough knowledge of commissioning strategy
  • A self-starting creative with innovative thinking who can ‘make things happen’
  • Ability to prioritise well, manage a high pressure environment and work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to deal diplomatically with different personalities, getting the most out of working relationships
  • Super leadership, management and communication skills
  • Experience of managing complex production budgets
  • Creative attitude to problem-solving
  • Good knowledge of Ofcom regulations and the ITN compliance manual
  • Awareness of Health and Safety requirements
  • Awareness and understanding of the financial implications of all decisions
  • Track record of prioritising and delivering excellence in Diversity and Inclusion
  • Excellent strategic thinking
