Description

Thank you for your interest in joining our team! Qurate Retail Group comprises six leading retail brands – QVC®, HSN®, Ballard Designs®, Frontgate®, Garnet Hill® and Grandin Road® – all dedicated to providing a more human way to shop. Qurate Retail Group is the largest player in video commerce (“vCommerce”), which includes video-driven shopping across linear TV, ecommerce sites, digital streaming and social platforms.
The Opportunity
QVC is hiring a talented SEO Specialist to join our team on a short-term contract to get the fundamental building blocks of SEO in its best shape and help grow SEO optimised content and linking strategies.
The goal of this contract is to help lift organic search traffic to our digital platforms and increase our visibility index.
During the tenure of the contract the SEO Specialist would operate independently, under guidance from the digital leader and in collaboration with our central optimisation and SEO teams in Europe.
Who We Are
QVC empowers shoppers with knowledge and shares insights in a lively, engaging way. We offer an ever-changing collection of familiar brands and fresh new products – from home and fashion to beauty, electronics and jewellery – and we connect shoppers to interesting personalities, engaging stories and award-winning customer service. Worldwide, QVC reaches more than 200 million homes via our 12 broadcast networks and reaches millions more via multiple streaming services, websites, mobile apps and social pages. In 2021, QVC International served 4.7 million customers and has more than 7,000 team members in the U.K., Germany, Japan, Italy, Poland and China.
Your Impact
  • Track, crawl and analyse QVC UK technical SEO performance and identify the top five areas for improvement. Structure these into an executable plan and put this plan into action. Priority is given to those tactics that can be implemented quickly and that can give the highest return on time invested, to achieve the goals.
- This should include titles, meta descriptions, alt tags, selected longtail keywords, URLs, etc.
  • Collaborate with the central teams to establish what SEO tactics can – and can’t – be implemented within the IT infrastructure and focus on those that can be implemented. Develop and report on those that are unable to be fixed in the short-term, with recommendations and priorities for how to circumvent these.
  • Provide guidance for the trading and content teams on opportunities for optimised keyword and link building strategies, including reciprocal links with main vendors where it makes sense.
  • Provide guidance for the performance marketing team on the backlink strategies to have the fastest impact on SEO visibility and organic traffic.
  • Review gaps and opportunities in the supplied focus brands and product categories for rapid and sustained improvements in rankings for organic search. Provide guidance to the trading and content teams on how to achieve this.
  • Research competitor SEO and provide recommendations to the teams for ways in which we can compete more effectively in the market.
  • Monitor daily performance metrics to understand SEO performance progress and to uncover further opportunities for the teams.

  • Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms
